Joomla 1.6 is coming...

As you know the 10th of January is likely to release the first stable release of Joomla 1.6. This means that within 3 or 4 months is very likely that new facilities are made with Joomla Joomla 1.6.

The Joomla 1.5 native extensions are compatible with the new version of Joomla 1.6, however, require minimal changes to work properly. Most interesting in this regard would be able to support extensions without losing compatibility with Joomla 1.5.

In JoomlaMagic we are working on our extension and we have adapted the first one: JNotesMagic to make it compatible with Joomla 1.6, without losing compatibility with Joomla 1.5. That is, the same package is used for both versions.

Moreover, given the effort which I am going to find a good documentation on what aspects have changed (only as far as developing extensions is concerned), I am preparing a quick guide to adapt extensions and compatible with Joomla 1.6 easily.
